Faculty Position Opening 【Economics Field】

I. Qualifications

1. Full-time or Project-based Assistant Professor or above.

2. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from a domestic or foreign university.

  • Early-Career Faculty:

Applicants who obtained their doctoral degree within two years prior to the first date of this public announcement (excluding mandatory military service for male applicants) shall be regarded as early-career faculty members.

3. Except for early-career faculty members who have recently obtained a doctoral degree, applicants for full-time faculty positions must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:

  1. Published an academic monograph within the past three years and provide reviewers’ comments and proof of publication approval.
  2. Published at least two academic journal articles indexed in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, TSSCI, EI, A&HCI, THCI (formerly THCI Core under the post-2016 classification), or Scopus within the past three years, serving as either the first author or corresponding author.
  3. Served as Principal Investigator (PI) for at least two research projects funded by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC; formerly the Ministry of Science and Technology) within the past three years, and provide the relevant approval records.

Note: The aforementioned journal articles and research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly National Science Council) may offset one another.

  • Applicants whose highest academic degree was awarded by National Taiwan Normal University must possess full-time teaching or research experience at another public or private higher education institution or academic research organization.

4. Applicants for project-based faculty positions shall meet the same qualification requirements as those for equivalent full-time faculty ranks. Except for early-career faculty members holding a doctoral degree, applicants must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:

  1. Published a peer-reviewed academic monograph within the past three years and provide reviewers’ comments and proof of publication approval.
  2. Published at least two journal articles within the past three years in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, EI, TSSCI, or THCI (formerly THCI Core under the post-2016 classification) journals, serving as either the first author or corresponding author.
  3. Published at least one original academic article within the past three years in a journal ranked among the top 5% by Impact Factor within its discipline, serving as either the first author or corresponding author.

 

II. Research and Teaching Requirements

1. Research field:

  • Political Economy
  • Regional Economics

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into economic analysis, research, and teaching.

2. Teaching Areas

  • Courses offered by the Department of East Asian Studies and related academic programs

3. Applicants with demonstrated ability to conduct English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) courses and who are willing to assist in promoting EMI curricula and departmental/college administrative affairs will be given priority consideration.

  4. Academic monographs, journal publications, or approved NSTC (formerly MOST) projects from the past three years.
  5. Any additional supporting materials beneficial to the review process, such as:
    • Artistic performances or exhibitions
    • Industry-academia collaboration projects
    • Competition achievements
    • Research accomplishments
    • Other relevant materials
